O Shot

“Orgasm…what is that? They used to be so strong, now it takes forever!”

“I want it and try so hard but can’t get there.”

“I’m so ashamed I find myself faking sometimes. My husband is a wonderful man, but sex is for him, I just don’t climax.”

“I’m 23 years old, I get excited, everything is perfect but I have yet to experience an orgasm. It is like something is blocking me.”

These are some of the many concerns I have heard during the last twenty years of practice as a gynecologist. So today, I want to share with you a new and innovative, treatment called the Orgasm Shot or O-Shot.

Orgasm has been defined as a buildup of pleasurable sensations and excitement to a peak intensity that releases tension and creates a feeling of satisfaction and relaxation. Orgasms are an essential part of healthy adult sexuality, which in turn, is part of a healthy adult lifestyle. Some doctors and therapists differentiate orgasms into “clitoral” orgasm and “vaginally activated” orgasm (VAO). Clitoral orgasms stem from stroking of the external clitoris and have been described as “electric” and “spreading outward from the clitoris”. VAO is more internal. It is activated by stroking and pressure against the upper vaginal wall in the area called the “G-Spot” The activation of the “G-Spot” leads to activation of stretch receptors of the anterior vaginal wall and clitoral roots leading to orgasm and even uterine contractions. The O-shot enhances “clitoral” and “vaginal activated” orgasms allowing you and your partner to “hit the spot” each and every time.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a portion of blood serum devoid of red blood cells but rich in growth factors and healing-inducing properties. To obtain these properties whole blood is drawn from the arm similar to a routine blood draw at your physician’s office. After being drawn, the growth factors are isolated from the blood plasma and processed in the lab to extract PRP for injection back into the specific parts of the clitoris and G-spot. Thus the O-Shot was born! PRP is a regenerative medicine therapy that uses your body’s own growth factors, growth hormones, and stimulates cells to develop into new tissue. Of particular importance are the growth of new nerves, enhanced collagen regeneration, and finally augments blood vessel formation to improve blood flow to the clitoris, G-spot, and urethra.

More benefits of the O-Shot include:

  • Increased sexual desire
  • Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation
  • Stronger orgasms
  • Younger smoother skin of the vulva
  • Decreased or resolved urinary incontinence
  • Increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm

The majority of women feel significantly improved sexual arousal and orgasmic intensity beginning a day (unusually early) to 1-3 weeks after injection. Sexual function improvements from the O-Shot have been reported in an estimated 80-90% of women (anecdotal data from papers presented at meetings; not sustained at this time by published evidence-based research). Effects appear to last eight months to a year. When improvements wane, the shot can be repeated. Though very rare, complications such as mild dysuria (pain with urination), bruising, and hypersexuality can occur. For those who would like to try the procedure for help with orgasm or urinary incontinence, well-trained providers are listed at www.oshot.info.
