Perineoplasty
If you have experienced a difficult childbirth, you may be struggling with an unusually open vaginal orifice. This can lead to irritation, decreased self-esteem, and even decreased sexual pleasure. The good news is that there is a surgical procedure called perineoplasty that can help.
During a perineoplasty, a skilled surgeon will remove any scar tissue or looseness around the opening and then repair and raise the perineum by re-approximating the muscles of the perineal body. This produces a normal approximation of the lax vaginal opening and elevates and tightens the thin muscles of the opening for visual pleasure. It also reduces the likelihood of slipping out during intercourse and helps to reduce vaginal flatus, or passing air from the vagina.
If desired, a vaginoplasty can be added to further approximate the levator muscles and rebuild the pelvic floor. These surgeries can also help to reduce the chance of urine loss during intimacy.
Don’t let childbirth-related complications negatively impact your quality of life any longer. Consider perineoplasty to restore your confidence and improve your sexual pleasure.
