Restore Sexual Wellness, Sensation & Confidence
Advanced Treatments for Low Libido, Female Orgasm Concerns, Vaginal Rejuvenation & Intimate Wellness
Pleasure is part of women’s health. When sexual sensation, desire, or response begins to shift, the impact is felt in your relationships, your confidence, and your sense of self.
At The Cosmetic Gyn, board-certified OB-GYN Dr. Michael Reed treats the physical and hormonal causes of these changes. Each option is grounded in clinical evidence and more than two decades of cosmetic gynecology experience. Care is delivered privately at our Davis and Beverly Hills, CA offices, with patients traveling from Sacramento, the greater Los Angeles area and beyond.
When Intimacy Stops Feeling the Way It Used To
Low arousal, weaker or less frequent orgasms, and reduced clitoral or vaginal sensation rarely have a single cause. Childbirth, hormonal shifts, aging, certain medications, and tissue laxity all contribute. Many patients describe a gradual change — sex stops feeling the way it used to, and no one explains why.
Sexual dysfunction is a clinical concern, not a personal failing. It is also treatable. Common patterns Dr. Reed sees in his Davis and Beverly Hills practice include:
- Difficulty reaching orgasm or muted orgasm intensity
- Decreased clitoral sensitivity
- Low libido or reduced sexual desire
- Vaginal dryness and pain during intercourse
- Weakened sensation from tissue laxity after childbirth
Your consultation begins with a full medical history, a focused exam, and a candid conversation about what has changed. From there, Dr. Reed develops a treatment plan tailored to your anatomy, hormone profile, and goals.
Treatments for Women’s Sexual Wellness
Each of the following can be used alone or combined, depending on the source of your concern.
Sexual Health Evaluation
When symptoms cross categories — pain, low desire, and reduced arousal together, for example — a broader medical workup is the right starting point. Sexual symptoms can stem from hormone shifts, chronic conditions like hypertension or diabetes, certain medications (including hormonal contraceptives), or pain-related conditions such as vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, and chronic vulvar burning.
A sexual health consultation with Dr. Reed includes a focused history, a physical exam, and lab work where appropriate. The goal is to identify the contributing factors and match treatment to the cause, rather than addressing each symptom in isolation.
Best for: overlapping or unclear symptoms, painful intercourse, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, and concerns linked to medical conditions or medications.
O-Shot®
The O-Shot uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) drawn from your own blood. The PRP is injected into the clitoral and upper vaginal tissues most involved in sexual response. Growth factors in the PRP activate stem cells in the area, encouraging tissue regeneration and improved function.
Patients often report improved female orgasm — stronger, more frequent, and easier to reach — along with increased clitoral sensitivity, better natural lubrication, and reduced pain during intercourse. The procedure is non-surgical and performed in-office. The O-Shot in Beverly Hills and Davis is one of Dr. Reed’s most-requested treatments for women looking to restore sexual response without surgery.
Best for: difficulty reaching orgasm, decreased sensation, and mild urinary incontinence.
ThermiVa®
ThermiVa uses controlled radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production and firm the tissues of the labia, clitoral hood, and vaginal canal. There are no incisions and no downtime. A standard course consists of three 30-minute sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, with results lasting up to 12 months.
Best for: vaginal laxity, loose external labial skin, and reduced sensation during intercourse.
Vaginoplasty
For some patients, the cause of reduced sensation is structural — significant vaginal laxity after childbirth that non-surgical treatment alone will not correct. Vaginoplasty addresses this by tightening the inner 60–70% of the vaginal canal, repositioning the levator ani and transverse perineal muscles toward the midline, and repairing the perineum.
The procedure is performed as outpatient surgery and is often combined with labiaplasty when cosmetic and functional concerns coexist. Most patients take about a week off work and avoid penetrative intercourse for roughly eight weeks. Vaginoplasty can also reduce stress urinary incontinence in suitable candidates.
Dr. Reed will be direct during your consultation about whether vaginoplasty fits your anatomy and goals, or whether a non-surgical option is the better starting point.
Best for: significant vaginal laxity after childbirth, reduced sensation during intercourse, and combined functional and cosmetic concerns.
